Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least six months of experience in a production capacity or related role in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and adjust machinery are required.
  • Basic math skills are required for measuring and adjusting machine settings.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical documents, including production orders and machine manuals, is required.
  • The ability to read and understand basic flow charts is required.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal instructions is required.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy, and sometimes hot manufacturing environment is required.
  • The ability to stand, bend, twist, repeat movements, and lift up to 70 pounds is required.
  • The employee must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety, food defense, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • The employee must wear required safety equipment, including gloves, hair nets, steel-toed safety shoes or boots, and beard nets.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate packing hall machinery and conveyor belts according to production specifications.
  • Review production schedules with the supervisor and prepare and test the line for production runs.
  • Adjust machine settings to ensure precise operations.
  • Replace and refill materials during the seasoning and packaging process.
  • Clean and maintain the work area and equipment.
  • Monitor machinery and make adjustments to resolve operational issues.
  • Identify and address defects or inconsistencies in the packing process.
  • Record breakdowns and follow up on repairs to ensure production readiness.
  • Write work orders for broken or unacceptable conditions.
  • Communicate equipment concerns or deficiencies to Maintenance.
  • Follow equipment setup procedures and review the effectiveness of set points.
  • Perform and record routine and pre-start inspections of packing hall machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team on complex repairs or adjustments.
  • Perform allergen changeovers, including removing guards, tensions, rollers, and related components.
  • Report safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Load and unload materials using appropriate lifting equipment and store them to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Work with the production team to meet daily and weekly production targets.
  • Optimize machine operations to reduce waste and maximize output.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating similar machinery in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
