Alten raises its 2026 targets, revenue up 6.4% in the third quarter. The engineering group posted a 6.4% increase in revenue in the third quarter. Driven notably by North America and Asia, it now targets organic growth of around 2% and an operating margin on activity of 9.3% for 2026. Published on 10/27/2026 at 01:27 pm EDT MarketScreener.com - Translated by Marketscreener - See original Alten generated revenue of €1.055bn in the third quarter of 2026, up 6.4% year over year. The engineering and IT services group announced on Tuesday, October 27, that it was revising its full-year targets, driven by an acceleration in its business. At constant scope and exchange rates, growth reached 3.6%. It came to 4.3% in France and 3.2% internationally. North America and Asia were the main drivers of this acceleration. Aerospace, defense, security, naval and rail activities drove business. Energy and services also grew. In automotive, telecommunications and electronics, the decline slowed. For the first nine months of 2026, Alten reported total revenue of €3.164bn, up 2.9%. Revenue in France increased 6%, compared with 1.3% internationally. This momentum is prompting the group to now forecast organic growth of around 2% for the year and an operating margin on activity close to 9.3%. Alten nevertheless highlighted economic and geopolitical uncertainties, as well as an unfavorable comparison base in the fourth quarter following the strong growth recorded a year earlier. At the close of trading on the Paris Stock Exchange, Alten shares fell 1.12%, to €88.45. (C) MarketScreener.com - 2026

From sea to sky: how the ALTEN x Zephir partnership is transforming industrial innovation.

From sea to sky: how the ALTEN x Zephir partnership is transforming industrial innovation. Antoine Albeau, 27-time windsurfing world champion and holder of the windsurfing speed record, has teamed up with engineer Marc Amerigo for the Zephir Project: a quest to push the boundaries of high-speed sailing performance without compromising eco-responsibility. To achieve this, they chose ALTEN as their technology partner. Its engineers are leveraging their technical expertise to turn the challenges of competitive sport into concrete solutions, capable of elevating athletic performance to unprecedented levels. But beyond breaking records, these innovations could well reshape industries undergoing major transformation. How is ALTEN adapting technologies born at sea for industrial applications? Innovation in sport: cutting-edge technologies for competitive windsurfing. To turn the demands of sporting performance into tangible solutions, ALTEN is putting its expertise at the service of the Zephir Project. The goal: optimise every detail to push the limits of speed in windsurfing. What are the technological innovations in sport? Digital Simulation and 3D Modelling: ALTEN uses digital mini wind tunnels to virtually test hundreds of configurations. By analysing air and water flows over foils, sails, and boards, ALTEN minimises drag and maximises lift. This approach directly benefits athletes by providing equipment optimised for their performance. Composite Materials and Lightweight Structures: ALTEN draws inspiration from biomimicry to develop anti-friction coatings, reducing water resistance. Athletes thus gain access to faster, more manoeuvrable boards. In parallel, ALTEN also uses hybrid materials (carbon fibre, epoxy resin, etc.) to enhance lightness and durability through an eco-design approach. Data and Embedded Sensors: ALTEN equips boards with high-precision sensors to measure forces, vibrations, and deformations in real time, as well as environmental conditions (wind, swell, temperature). This data then feeds algorithms to refine designs and predict failure points. A major asset for athletes, who can adjust their equipment based on conditions and optimise their performance. Technology transfer: from sea-born innovations to aeronautics. The technologies developed for the Zephir Project are not limited to sport. Their purpose is to address industrial challenges, with aeronautics as one of the first field of application. From foils to aircraft wings. Windsurfing foils and aircraft wings share a common challenge: minimising drag while maximising lift. The digital simulation tools developed by ALTEN for the Zephir Project now make it possible to: * Transpose the hydrodynamic profiles of foils to aircraft wings, refining their shapes to reduce air resistance. * Accelerate development cycles: where designing a wing could take several years, 3D modelling now allows hundreds of variants to be tested in just a few months. Lighter, stronger materials for fuselages. The composite materials and honeycomb structures designed for the sea are finding direct applications in aeronautics. By adapting them to aircraft fuselages, ALTEN enables: * Reduced aircraft weight: a lighter fuselage means lower fuel consumption and increased range. * Enhanced durability: honeycomb structures, inspired by competitive sails, improve resistance to mechanical stress and extend aircraft lifespan. * Lower operating costs: less weight also means less fuel burned and a reduced carbon footprint. Sailing: A catalyst for industrial innovation. The partnership between ALTEN and the Zephir Project demonstrates how sporting challenges can inspire sustainable industrial solutions. By transferring sailing technologies to aeronautics, ALTEN is helping its clients design lighter, more efficient, and more eco-responsible aircraft. But aeronautics is just the beginning. These innovations, born from the pursuit of extreme sporting performance, will soon benefit other sectors, such as automotive, energy, and maritime industries. One thing is certain: with projects like Zephir, the lessons of the sea are now guiding industrial innovation towards new horizons.
