Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Knowledge of successful approaches and techniques for dealing with change; ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change.
Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and reporting quality metrics for the Hose and Couplings leadership team; PPM, Defects Per Unit (DPU), Warranty, CPI Projects, etc.
  • Managing the Hose and Couplings list and working with machine groups to resolve hose-related CPI projects on their lists.
  • Reporting the DPU and explanations of issues for the monthly General Manager DPU report.
  • Working with PSLD hose facilities to ensure Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) is properly completed and responses communicated to machine groups.
  • Performing analysis of field return samples and provide responses to inquiries: leak testing, hose tear downs, etc.
  • Working with Prime Product facilities on Hose and Couplings Lines Audits of new and prototype machines.
  • Partnering with Manufacturing Quality Engineers to review Product Release Workbench Desktop (PRWB) claims stories weekly to stay ahead of emerging issues on the warranty side.
  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Quality Engineer in a Machine or Component Group.
  • Quality/Quality Engineering Certifications.
  • Ability to utilize and run reporting using Product Release Workbench Desktop (PRWB) system.
  • Previous experience in components manufacturing, specifically non-metallic components like hose or rubber components.
