Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a mental health, forensic, or addictions setting.
  • An Associate's Degree in Psychology or a related study.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • Availability to work 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, three shifts every week, every third preassigned weekend, every other holiday, and one hallmark holiday.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Registered Nurse in providing direct, indirect, and non-patient care responsibilities.
  • Contribute to quality patient care as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team by providing therapeutic groups and activities, milieu counseling, and milieu management.
  • Perform patient care observation rounds, one-to-one observation, environmental rounds, vital signs, control logs, glucose checks, specimen collections, treatment planning, patient education, visitor and meal monitoring, belongings and body checks, and documentation as needed.
  • Use verbal de-escalation techniques, limit-setting, and directed physical restraint application to manage disruptive patient behaviors, and participate in psychiatric codes and Code Grey.
  • Perform clerical functions supporting the clinical operations of the unit.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or a related study.
  • CPI, Handle with Care, or Aggression Management certification.
