About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of embedded software development in C for resource-constrained real-time systems is required.
  • Strong microcontroller architecture fundamentals, including memory maps, interrupts, direct memory access, timing, and determinism, are required.
  • Production experience with a real-time operating system or equivalent scheduling framework is required.
  • Driver development from datasheets and hands-on hardware debugging experience are required.
  • Experience implementing communication protocols, including Controller Area Network or Controller Area Network Flexible Data-Rate, is required.
  • Experience implementing bootloaders, flashing, or software updates is required.
  • Experience with version control, code review, and continuous integration is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally is required.
Responsibilities
  • Own board bring-up and hardware abstraction, including clocks, memory, timers, interrupts, watchdogs, and system basis chip integration.
  • Configure and maintain the real-time operating system and scheduling architecture; own task partitioning, timing budgets, and runtime monitoring.
  • Develop and integrate device drivers for cell-monitoring front-end devices, voltage and current measurement, isolation-monitoring interfaces, analog and digital input/output, high-side drivers, discrete inputs and outputs, and non-volatile storage.
  • Own communication stacks and services, including automotive serial networks and diagnostic services.
  • Own the bootloader and software flashing, update, and rollback mechanism, including updates across multiple controllers.
  • Implement secure boot, secure flashing, secure debug access, signed-image verification, and hardware security module key handling in partnership with cybersecurity engineering.
  • Own persistent data logging and event storage, including storage-media management, retention, and retrieval.
  • Own the embedded build environment, static analysis, unit-test framework, and continuous-integration pipeline.
  • Integrate application, controls, and algorithm software onto the platform; support application engineers with debugging, tracing, and runtime measurement.
  • Define and document the base-software-to-application interface so application development can proceed independently of the platform.
  • Support supplier software assessment and technical transfer.
  • Debug at the hardware level using oscilloscopes, logic and protocol analyzers, and on-chip debuggers.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred.
  • Experience with battery management, high-voltage, or safety-relevant control-unit software is preferred.
  • Experience with layered automotive base-software architecture is preferred.
  • Experience interfacing with cell-monitoring front-end devices over isolated serial or Controller Area Network-based interfaces is preferred.
  • Experience with secure boot, secure flashing, hardware security modules, or cryptographic-library integration is preferred.
  • Experience developing software under functional-safety and cybersecurity process requirements is preferred.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication-protocol stacks in addition to automotive networks is preferred.
  • Experience with MISRA C compliance and static-analysis toolchains is preferred.
  • Experience with continuous integration and hardware-in-the-loop automation for embedded targets is preferred.

Six high-yield dividend stocks fail the payout test, from Ford to Whirlpool's 9.37% mirage

High dividend yields can hide weak payouts, and a four-step test helps separate real income from traps. It checks earnings with one-offs stripped out, full-year free cash flow against dividends, management's explanation, and whether debt funds the gap. Ford yields 4.99% and shows a trailing EPS of -$1.88, caused by $4.2B in one-time charges. Its debt-to-equity of 4.66 leaves the $0.60 dividend exposed to a downturn. Pfizer yields 6.03%, but its free cash flow yield is 5.60%. Clorox's roughly $405M of free cash flow fell short of about $601M in dividends. Whirlpool fails every step. It cut its quarterly dividend from $1.75 to $0.90 in 2025, paid no common dividend in the second quarter of 2026, and its shares are down 59.48% since the end of 2025. 3M and Dow pass, with payouts now covered by cash.

UPS, Pfizer, Kraft Heinz and Ford dividends at risk as payouts outstrip earnings

Four blue chip companies, UPS, Pfizer, Kraft Heinz, and Ford, may struggle to sustain their dividends, according to an analysis of their earnings, cash flow, and debt. UPS yields 7.02% and pays out about 121% of its GAAP earnings. Pfizer yields 6.10%, with a GAAP payout ratio of about 226%; its 2025 free cash flow of $9.076 billion fell short of $9.771 billion in dividends. Kraft Heinz yields 6.82%, but its trailing GAAP earnings per share are −$2.88 after $7.4 billion in impairments. Ford yields 4.98% after an $8.162 billion loss in 2025, and its debt-to-equity ratio is 4.66. All four companies say their payouts are safe, and each points to adjusted earnings guidance that covers the dividend.

Seven S&P 500 stocks need 200%+ rallies to reclaim all-time highs

Seven major S&P 500 companies with market capitalizations exceeding $20 billion need to rally at least 200% to reach their previous all-time highs, according to Bespoke. The struggling firms include PG&E, PayPal, Ford, Nike, Las Vegas Sands, Zoetis, and Crown Castle. Nike has experienced particularly poor performance, with the company's stock trading at record lows and its dividend yield approaching 5%. Recent quarterly results showed Nike Brand sales fell 4%, online sales dropped 13%, Converse sales declined 28%, and China sales crashed 26%. CEO Elliott Hill indicated that weakness in the sportswear market would persist. PayPal faces intense competition in the payments sector. New CEO Enrique Lores reportedly declined a buyout offer from Stripe and will focus on cost reductions and improving customer experience.
