About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in a relevant field and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong SQL development skills, including query authoring, tuning, and troubleshooting against relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Hands-on experience developing and deploying reports in Jaspersoft or JasperReports, including parameterization, scheduling, and distribution.
  • Working understanding of relational database design, data models, and data-warehouse concepts, with the ability to navigate an unfamiliar schema to locate and validate data.
  • Experience supporting or engineering system-to-system integrations, including API and interface concepts, log analysis, and structured root-cause investigation.
  • Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including communicating technical findings to non-technical stakeholders and external vendor technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently, follow up effectively, and operate across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a business system or application, including accountability for change management, access and role definition, vendor release coordination, and end-user communication.
  • Familiarity with clinical supply management systems such as IRTs, Signant’s PMD, Loftware’s P360, and MasterControl’s Mx, and vendor platforms such as Sensitech SensiWatch.
Responsibilities
  • Independently design, develop, test, and deploy operational and management reports, dashboards, and KPI views for clinical supply systems using Jaspersoft and SQL against Oracle and PostgreSQL data sources.
  • Gather requirements directly from business stakeholders, translate them into report specifications, build parameterized and filterable reports with dynamic titling and drill-down, publish them to the reporting server, and own them through user acceptance and ongoing maintenance.
  • Act as Business System Owner for assigned Clinical Supply Management systems, accountable for day-to-day system health, configuration, supportability, change management and control, business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing, interface and integration error monitoring, access and role documentation, upgrades and releases, lifecycle documentation, and end-user communications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between business users, global IT, and external vendors for owned systems, and represent the systems in cross-functional governance forums.
  • Engineer, test, and support integrations between Clinical Supply Management systems and external vendor platforms, including TRACK/CSS Inventory to Sensitech SensiWatch and associated Veeva Vault end-to-end flows.
  • Design and implement API logging and monitoring, coordinate database, network access-control-list, and firewall configuration across development and production, and drive end-to-end testing with internal IT and external vendor engineering teams.
  • Investigate interface and integration failures by correlating application logs, API responses, and database activity; determine root causes, distinguish vendor-side from company-side faults, communicate findings, resolve low-to-moderate complexity issues independently, and escalate when required.
  • Own the input, administration, and quality of master data in Clinical Supply Management systems, including item classifications, data mappings, and external partner and depot representations; assess downstream impacts before changes are implemented.
  • Identify and deliver process automation and optimization opportunities, prepare cross-departmental improvement proposals, and take local processes from concept through requirements, testing, and implementation with the relevant business area.
  • Support system lifecycle activities, including documentation, user requirement specifications, user acceptance testing and approval, access approvals, upgrades, and change activities; evaluate change-control impacts and maintain technical documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain training materials for Clinical Supply Management systems, deliver training to new and existing users, prepare and update global standard operating procedures and work instructions, and mentor others on reporting tools and system data.
  • Communicate with global system users to scope requests, resolve problems, and evaluate processes; maintain vendor and service-provider relationships in accordance with company vendor-management and purchasing expectations; contribute to project time and cost estimates.
  • Evaluate new IT systems and tools for functionality, data models, and integration options with the existing systems landscape, and follow applicable corporate and divisional policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with scripting or automation, such as Python, for data processing and operational tooling.
  • Experience preparing training materials, standard operating procedures, or work instructions and delivering system training.
  • Prior experience in clinical drug development or clinical supply chain in a GMP-regulated environment.
  • Experience with computer system validation, user acceptance testing, change control, periodic review, disaster recovery testing, and GxP documentation practices.

AbbVie wins FDA nod for at-home Skyrizi starts in Crohn's; sales boost seen after 60-90 days

AbbVie won US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval on October 23 for an at-home start to Skyrizi in adults with moderately to severely active Crohn's disease. Patients previously had to begin with intravenous infusions; they can now take the first doses at home with an on-body injector. By Week 12, 74% of patients new to advanced therapy reached clinical remission, against 27% on placebo. Johnson & Johnson's rival Tremfya won similar approval about 19 months earlier. Chief commercial officer Jeff Stewart said full paid access "will probably take 60 or 90 days" because insurers must approve the regimen. Sales impact should therefore come mostly after the fourth quarter. AbbVie reports third-quarter results on October 30. It guides for revenue of about $17.2 billion; Skyrizi's franchise sold $17.562 billion in 2025.

Retirees swap Social Security for 5 dividend stocks yielding up to 6.64%

Retirees looking for income beyond Social Security are turning to dividend stocks. The 2027 cost-of-living adjustment is tracking toward 3.3%, and five companies from different industries were screened for dividend safety first, then yield. Verizon yields 6.64% and Altria 6.17%. Verizon's free cash flow guidance of $21.94 billion to $22.14 billion covers its roughly $11.76 billion annual dividend. Altria's payout is about 79% of the low end of its 2026 earnings guidance. Realty Income pays monthly at a 5.99% yield and has raised its dividend 115 consecutive quarters. Enbridge yields 5.95%. AbbVie yields 2.48%, but its quarterly dividend has grown from $0.40 in 2013 to $1.73 in 2026. Risks include satellite competition for Verizon, falling cigarette volumes for Altria, and currency swings for Enbridge.

Skyrizi and Rinvoq sales each rose about 24%, and neither faces US competition until 2033 and 2037 respectively.
