About the job
- A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education, is required; individuals have up to two years from the date of hire to complete degree requirements.
- ASCP registry or equivalent is preferred, and examination eligibility is required.
- Completion of an internship in an approved CLSI program or one year of experience as a Medical Technologist is required.
- Experience in specimen collection is required.
- Perform all aspects of laboratory testing in one or more of the following departments: Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology, and Urinalysis.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using various analyzers and manual methods on specimens such as blood, urine, and other body fluids according to established procedures.
- Report clinical results efficiently and accurately within prescribed time frames.
- Demonstrate and maintain clinical laboratory technical knowledge.
- Monitor, operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation in the assigned area.
- Identify and document situations in which test systems are outside designated parameters and take corrective action.
- ASCP registry or equivalent.
