What believers are saying

  • July 22, 2026 RiverPlace Portland and March 19, 2026 Pioche Village add fresh fee revenue.
  • August 11, 2026 CTO Jeff Knowlton strengthens systems, digital booking, and operating efficiency.
  • July 1, 2026 Reef expanded to five properties, validating CoralTree’s resort-management credibility.

What critics are saying

  • June 10, 2025 contract litigation against Peninsula Beach Resort shows management-friction risk.
  • CoralTree’s 2026 growth relies on Reef, Outbound, and Lowe deal flow, not recurring demand.
  • If Lowe shifts capital elsewhere, CoralTree loses its captive platform and expansion engine.

What makes CoralTree Hospitality unique

  • Lowe-backed CoralTree controls 52 properties, 45 restaurants, 10 golf courses, and 9 spas.
  • CoralTree Residence Collection manages 1,500+ residences and 40 HOAs across Hawaii and Colorado.
  • Tom Luersen’s team still leverages Destination Hotels and Two Roads operating discipline.

CoralTree Hospitality appoints new CTO.

CoralTree Hospitality appoints new CTO. CoralTree Hospitality has appointed Jeff Knowlton as chief technology officer to lead the company's enterprise technology strategy, digital innovation and systems optimization across its portfolio. Knowlton brings more than 25 years of experience in hospitality and technology leadership, digital transformation, guest-facing platform enhancement and operational system modernization to his new role. He will oversee CoralTree's technology roadmap, focusing on improving guest experience, operational efficiency and scalable infrastructure to support the company's expansion. "Jeff's deep expertise at the intersection of hospitality and technology makes him an exceptional addition to our leadership team," said Tom Luersen, president of CoralTree Hospitality. "As we continue to grow, his vision and leadership will be instrumental in delivering innovative, seamless, and data-driven guest experiences across our portfolio." Before joining CoralTree Hospitality, Knowlton most recently served as chief information officer at Peregrine Hospitality. Prior to that, he served in the same role at Sonesta Hotels International. Knowlton also held technology roles with the Pursuit Collection, Sage Hospitality and Vail Resorts. "I'm thrilled to join CoralTree Hospitality at such an exciting time in its growth," said Knowlton. "The company has a strong reputation for thoughtful, experience-driven hospitality, and I look forward to advancing its technology capabilities to support both guests and associates while enabling long-term success."
