Requirements
  • Successfully complete a state-approved Certified Medication Technician or Certified Medicine Aide course and maintain current certification according to state requirements.
  • Complete a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program if required by the state of employment.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand spoken English to ensure patient and resident safety and respond to medical and physical needs.
  • Have basic computer knowledge or be willing to learn.
  • Attend at least 12 hours of continuing-education programs provided by the assisted living center to maintain certification.
  • Provide verification of a tuberculin skin test as required by state law and company policy.
Responsibilities
  • Administer routine and as-needed medications as prescribed.
  • Monitor vital signs and report observations to the supervising nurse.
  • Maintain accurate medication documentation.
  • Collaborate with the care team to provide person-centered care.
