About the Job

Requirements

  • Three to five or more years of experience as a Data Engineer, focused on building data pipelines, data warehousing, and preparing data for advanced analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse, including advanced data modeling, query optimization, and data migration or re-platforming frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with serverless functions and cloud orchestration, such as AWS Lambda, ECS/Fargate, Step Functions, Azure Functions, Container Apps, or Data Factory.
  • Familiarity with broader cloud data ecosystems, such as AWS S3, Kinesis/MSK, EMR/Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Event Hubs, or Databricks.
  • Practical exposure to AI concepts, platforms, and data engineering practices supporting Machine Learning, such as AWS SageMaker, Azure AI Services, Vertex AI, embedding generation, or pipelines for large language models.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation, API integration, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT principles, data warehousing concepts, and dimensional data modeling.
  • Knowledge of building data solutions optimized for Power BI.
  • Adherence to engineering standards, agile methodologies, and DevSecOps best practices.
  • Ability to read and comprehend specifications, produce clear documentation, and articulate technical roadblocks or architectural decisions in meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load large volumes of cybersecurity data from SIEMs, EDRs, network logs, cloud logs, and vulnerability scanners, using a DevSecOps mindset.
  • Use modern cloud orchestration and container tools such as AWS ECS, Azure Data Factory or Container Apps, or optionally GCP Cloud Composer or Run, to optimize pipelines for BI tools and AI/ML model training.
  • Develop, optimize, and manage data models in enterprise cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse/Fabric, or Google BigQuery.
  • Design feature stores, semantic layers, and vector-ready datasets that support data integrity, performance, accessibility, reporting, and GenAI integrations such as RAG.
  • Use cloud services, including serverless functions and orchestration workflows, for data processing, automation, and monitoring across AWS or Azure.
  • Optimize data models for Power BI or Looker consumption and collaborate with stakeholders to build dashboards visualizing security metrics and AI-driven forecasting and anomaly indicators.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate foundational AI concepts into data architecture, enabling large language model adoption, automated summaries, and intelligent alerting.
  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting, and contribute to governance policies that support trusted AI outputs.
  • Monitor and tune data pipeline, query, and warehouse-model performance for efficient processing and low-latency insights.
  • Work with Cyber Security Analysts, Security Operations, and engineering teams to capture data and AI requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation for pipelines, models, and architectures.
  • Stay current with data engineering, multi-cloud capabilities, and AI/ML data practices to drive innovation in cybersecurity.

Desired Qualifications

  • One or more years of hands-on experience with GCP and related technologies such as BigQuery, managed Airflow, Cloud Functions, and GCS.
  • Experience working with cybersecurity data such as SIEM logs, network flows, or vulnerability management platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and GitHub Actions.
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks and strict security protocols for handling sensitive data.
  • Interest or background in data science, predictive modeling, or statistical analysis.
  • Experience with Google BigQuery is beneficial.
  • Experience with Looker is beneficial.
