Requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with colleagues, clients, and third parties and adapt communication style to the audience.
  • At least ten years of experience in a construction management environment with a similar national or regional contractor.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Organisation, time management, and proactive planning capabilities.
  • First Aid at Work certificate.
  • IOSH or equivalent health and safety management training.
  • Training in temporary works and excavation safety.
  • Knowledge of permitting requirements for live energy works in conjunction with site and safety management.
  • Training in working at heights and scaffolding.
  • Training in lifting and cranage operations.
  • Other HSEQS training required by the site HSE plan.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and monitor key-stage programmes.
  • Set up the site and maintain site security, including site hutting, hoardings, and signboards.
  • Take possession of the site and plan and coordinate trade activities.
  • Apply for temporary service connections.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications and communicate directions to site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure adequate method statements and risk assessments are completed for high-risk activities.
  • Request outstanding information from the professional team and confirm all verbal instructions.
  • Assist with ensuring all necessary approvals are in place for the project to progress without risk, such as a hoarding licence.
  • Review buildability and identify construction methods that may provide commercial or programme advantages.
  • Implement environmental controls with the Environmental Coordinator and work toward the objectives in the HSE plan for civils.
  • Attend site, subcontractor, and internal meetings and maintain and circulate notes and action points.
