About the job
- High school diploma or equivalency certification.
- For Army programs, six years of total aircraft-maintenance experience, including two years as a rotary- or fixed-wing aircraft inspector under the Army Maintenance Management System; LSF-only.
- For APSD programs, five years of aircraft-maintenance or modification experience, including at least two years performing commercial or military aircraft quality inspections.
- Any combination of education and experience may be substituted for the job requirements with hiring-manager recommendation and COO-or-higher approval.
- Perform aircraft, aircraft-component, and shop inspections to assure compliance with technical instructions and related directives.
- Interpret technical data and evaluate maintenance actions to ensure safe and reliable aircraft, components, and equipment are provided in accordance with current technical publications and directives.
- Review technical publications, directives, reports, and subsequent revisions, and confer with quality-assurance, maintenance, management, and engineering personnel to solve work-related problems.
- Inspect, test, and certify mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, electrical, and pneumatic aviation components.
- Inspect and review maintenance source documents, inspection records, and related forms used in aircraft, vehicle, and equipment maintenance to ensure that forms and records are current and comply with established procedures, service guidance, regulatory requirements, and contract specifications.
- Implement and enforce quality policies and procedures that meet ISO 9001, AS9110, Ground Operating Procedures, and Repair Station Quality Control Manual requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
