Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or greater in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a similar field, with a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • An active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance before the start date.
  • U.S. citizenship, because only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.
  • Experience working on Department of Defense or Intelligence Community Science and Technology programs, such as DARPA, ONR, AFRL, IARPA, or OUSD.
  • Experience engaging with senior business leaders and executives.
Responsibilities
  • Work with the BBN President on short- and long-term organizational goals and objectives aligned with broader organizational strategies.
  • Support, manage, and drive BBN operational reviews, staffing reviews, and engagements with the larger RTX company.
  • Manage, develop, analyze, and coordinate staff actions and new operational projects at the BBN Leadership Team level.
  • Lead or support cross-functional working groups and business initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment across the BBN Leadership Team to ensure successful execution of business deliverables and initiatives.
  • Serve, when assigned, as the BBN President's representative on enterprise initiatives or programs across RTX and engage with senior and executive business and functional leaders.
  • Support BBN strategy decisions and coordinate internal investments.
  • Develop and track business and operational metrics and reviews to support company growth.
  • Create or modify technical and management briefing charts for meetings with RTX leaders, customers, employees, and speaking arrangements or conferences.
  • Develop mechanisms to monitor business and project progress and intervene and solve problems with project managers, line managers, and clients; provide guidance and instruction on expected results and deliverables.
  • Engage with BBN leadership and the broader BBN community to identify challenges, support solutions, and drive alignment with BBN business goals.
  • Engage in and lead special projects for the President and leadership team.
  • Work closely with BBN functional leaders to prepare materials for Strategic Communications, Human Resources, Business Development, Contracts, Program Management, and other functions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to work autonomously and balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with groups in a highly visible, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate organizational or operational challenges and apply resources to mitigate issues before they affect operations.
  • Program Management, Technical Project Management, Principal Investigator, Finance, or Subcontracts Management experience.
  • A current Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience working with and quickly understanding a broad range of software and hardware technologies.

RTX's Raytheon secures $24.4B contract for SM-6 interceptors

Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured a five-year contract worth up to $24.4 billion for Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) interceptors. The contract includes two additional option years. The agreement ensures a consistent supply of SM-6s for the US Navy. The missile can conduct offensive strikes and missile defense missions. Raytheon President Phil Jasper said the company is focused on meeting demand through operational investments and facility improvements. The firm has expanded its workforce, strengthened partnerships across the defence industrial base, and automated production to boost output. SM-6 is the only combat-proven weapon capable of performing anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, and ballistic missile defence. It can be fired from various Navy ship-based platforms and land-based launchers.

United Airlines receives first GTF Advantage-powered A321XLR from RTX's Pratt & Whitney

United Airlines has received its first Airbus A321XLR aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney's GTF Advantage engines, marking the inaugural delivery of this enhanced engine variant. The GTF Advantage offers up to twice the operational lifespan of current GTF engines and provides 4-8% more takeoff thrust, enabling extended range capabilities. The engine features an advanced hot section design and remains fully compatible with existing GTF models, simplifying fleet operations. Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, plans to transition its entire PW1100G-JM production line to the Advantage specification by 2028. Current GTF operators will be able to access 90-95% of the Advantage's durability improvements through a Hot Section Plus upgrade option, available from early next year during scheduled maintenance visits.

Pratt & Whitney invests $25M to expand Poland manufacturing, adding 120 jobs

RTX's Pratt & Whitney is investing $25 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Niepołomice, Poland. The site produces complex tubular assemblies for commercial and military engines. The expansion, supported by the Polish government through the Polish Investment Zone Programme, will add more than 120 jobs when it becomes operational in 2028. The facility currently manufactures precision components for multiple engine types, including the GTF engine for commercial aircraft and the F135 for F-35 fighter aircraft. This investment is part of Pratt & Whitney's $125 million commitment to Polish facilities this year, including a $100 million investment in Rzeszow. Poland represents RTX's largest investment base outside the United States, with more than 9,500 employees across its businesses in-country.

RTX's $289 billion backlog splits 60% commercial aerospace and 40% defence, a combination that benefits both divisions. The commercial segment's strong profitability allows the defence business to avoid risky fixed-price development contracts that have troubled competitors like Boeing and Lockheed Martin. This flexibility enabled RTX to terminate an unfavourable classified programme in 2024, taking a $575 million charge rather than pursuing losses. CEO Chris Calio said the contract fell outside the company's core competencies and predated RTX's formation. The arrangement works both ways. Defence earnings supported RTX through a costly powder metal coating issue affecting its geared turbofan engine. The structure allows RTX to focus on established defence solutions like Patriot missiles whilst maintaining investment in commercial aerospace during downturns.

RTX's Raytheon wins $22.9B contract to accelerate Tomahawk missile production

Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured a seven-year, $22.9 billion contract from the US Navy to accelerate production of Tomahawk cruise missiles. The agreement, part of the Department of War's Arsenal of Freedom initiative, will support ramping annual production to over 1,000 missiles. RTX has already tripled Tomahawk deliveries in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The contract will enable the company to expand capacity and work with hundreds of suppliers nationwide to scale output. Tomahawk cruise missiles provide long-range strike capabilities, allowing the Navy to target hostile forces from hundreds of miles away across multiple launch platforms.
