Cooperative lender supplying housing liquidity
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis is a regional cooperative bank owned by its member institutions in Indiana and Michigan. It provides a steady source of liquidity to support housing finance, asset‑liability management, and community lending for its members and their customers. It raises funds in global debt markets and passes the borrowing advantages to members as lower funding costs, who then extend affordable financing to households and local businesses. Because it is privately capitalized and member‑owned within a system of 11 regional FHLBanks, its priority is returning benefits to members and communities rather than pursuing external profits, helping ensure affordable housing and economic development in its service area.
