Requirements
- ARDMS or ARRT certification is required.
- Peer tutors must have earned an A or B in the courses they wish to tutor, maintained an overall 3.0 GPA, have Sonography clinical experience, and obtain approval from the program director.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication is required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues is required.
- Knowledge of the subjects they tutor is required.
- The ability to receive detailed information through oral communication is required.
- The ability to communicate effectively with students and supervisors is required.
- Knowledge of Zoom is required.
- The position requires extensive time sitting and standing, the ability to lift up to 5 pounds, the ability to hear and distinguish audible sounds, and the ability to visually observe colors and shades of gray for interpreting sonography images and teaching.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual or small group tutoring in person or online.
- Communicate with instructors, the program director, and students.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and hours.
Desired Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is preferred.
- An undergraduate or postgraduate degree is preferred.
- A high degree of interpersonal competency, including professionalism, diplomacy, judgment, and discretion, is preferred.
- Teaching experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is preferred.
