Requirements
  • Completed nursing training; three years of professional experience are desirable.
  • Completed specialist training as a nursing expert in stoma, continence, and wound care, with interest in further training as a wound specialist therapist.
  • Social, communication, and educational competencies.
  • Ability to integrate and collaborate in an interdisciplinary team.

  • Willingness to pursue regular and continuous professional development through annual seminars, conferences, and professional exchange.

Responsibilities
  • Manage risks and resources.
  • Implement preventive measures and recognize and treat complications in a timely manner.
  • Ensure quality of care for patients with stomas.
  • Perform preoperative stoma marking.
  • Provide stoma, continence, and wound care and recommend assistive devices.
  • Provide behavioral training and adapt the patient’s environment to promote continence.
  • Advise, train, and instruct patients in self-care and regaining everyday competencies.
  • Train and educate relatives.
  • Advise on treatment options and physiotherapeutic interventions.
  • Provide information on aromatherapy offered by the Department of Naturopathy and Integrative Medicine.
  • Coordinate interfaces within the interdisciplinary team and manage discharge planning.
  • Evaluate organized and implemented measures.
  • Provide education, continuing education, and advanced training, as well as professional consultation for nurses and trainees.
