  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and teamwork skills are required.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills are required.
  • A customer service-oriented attitude, pleasant and poised demeanor, and excellent phone etiquette are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and guests using AIDET while providing an individualized patient service experience.
  • Provide patient support, keep patients informed of delays, and offer appropriate alternatives.
  • Perform full patient registration, including updating and validating demographics, identification, and insurance information, completing verification, and obtaining signatures.
  • Perform and document patient outreach for front desk pool messages, MyChart messages, and confirmation calls.
  • Use kiosks, tablets, and other technology to assist patients upon arrival.
  • Stand and walk for two to eight hours per assigned shift, depending on location.
  • Make appointments, including follow-up appointments, across physician office visits, imaging, and laboratory post-visit and outreach workflows.
  • Collect co-pays and outstanding balances and review and reconcile the cash drawer daily.
  • Perform non-clinical administrative duties including in-basket and telephone communication, medical-record documentation, obtaining reports and medical records, completing insurance and disability forms, precertification and authorizations, referrals, and patient-registration and referral workqueues.
  • Comply with procedures for transcription of radiology and scheduling orders.
  • Fulfill organizational responsibilities, including respecting and promoting patient rights and responding appropriately to emergencies.
  • Communicate with multidisciplinary team members and patients while adhering to the organization’s mission, vision, values, and Code of Ethical Conduct.
  • Maintain working knowledge of regulatory standards and sustain those standards in daily operations.
  • Multitask in a fast-paced environment and adjust to patient volume.
  • Work at other ambulatory offices when requested based on volume.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of recent registration or billing experience working in a medical facility.
  • Proficiency in patient registration, scheduling, medical insurance pre-certifications, authorizations, and referrals.
  • Experience with Epic.
  • NAHAM Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification.
