TSC is seeking a Data Collection Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. This position supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). This role focuses on gathering, processing, and analyzing data to assess system performance against certification and operational requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and organize data from complex Navy Combat Systems during test events and operational assessments.
- Analyze data to evaluate system performance, comparing results against certification and operational benchmarks.
- Identify and document trends, anomalies, and potential areas of improvement based on collected data.
- Use MATLAB or similar tools to process and analyze large datasets, develop models, and create visualizations for performance reporting.
- Automate routine data analysis tasks and develop scripts to streamline data processing workflows.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including system engineers, test engineers, Fleet Representatives and Program Managers, to support system assessments.
- Provide technical input to improve data collection processes and tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics engineering, computer science or related technical field and 2 or more years of industry or DoD/DoN experience.
- US citizenship and at minimum an active secret clearance
- Experience interpreting and reporting complex data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working experience with programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, MATLAB).
- Familiarity with Navy Combat Systems
- Knowledge of military standards or defense-related certifications is beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings clearly.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
