ClassDojo launches schoolwide communication tools for principals and district leaders

ClassDojo has launched new schoolwide tools designed to help school leaders communicate with families and strengthen school-community connections. The platform, traditionally known for classroom communication, now offers multichannel announcements across email, text, voice, and mobile app, along with built-in Canva newsletter creation and one-click social media posting. Schools using ClassDojo schoolwide see 80% of families reading messages the same day they're received, 25% more active families, and 20% more family-initiated messages. Three in four principals report it helps build positive school culture. The new features include schoolwide engagement dashboards and tools specifically designed for middle and high schools, including secure teacher-to-student messaging. Messages automatically translate into more than 190 languages. All features will be available for the 2026–27 school year at no cost to schools, teachers, and families. ClassDojo is currently used in 95% of US schools.

ClassDojo launches K-12 website platform that auto-updates from classroom posts

ClassDojo has launched ClassDojo Websites, a website platform for K-12 schools and districts that automatically updates by connecting to its existing communications platform. The platform eliminates manual double-posting by publishing stories, events and announcements across school websites automatically. Built on CatapultCMS infrastructure and powered by Automattic's WP Cloud, the platform addresses challenges facing districts competing for students amid declining enrolment. US public schools have lost approximately 1.8 million students since 2019, making consistent, current online presence increasingly important. The platform includes built-in accessibility monitoring for ADA and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, reduces vendor relationships, and integrates with existing district systems. ClassDojo is used in 90% of US schools. The platform will roll out to pilot districts this summer, with broader availability planned for the 2026-27 school year.

ClassDojo expands tutoring program as US students lag behind pre-pandemic learning levels

ClassDojo is expanding its Dojo Tutor service as US schools continue addressing learning gaps following the pandemic. The platform connects students with over 2,500 certified teachers for one-on-one tutoring in maths, reading and writing, available seven days a week. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, many American students remain below pre-pandemic achievement levels. ClassDojo, used in 90% of US schools, is positioning summer as a critical opportunity for academic support without straining educators. The tutoring focuses on personalized learning plans rather than homework help, with early results showing measurable improvement within a few sessions. The service offers flexible scheduling around summer activities whilst providing teachers opportunities to supplement income outside traditional school hours.

ClassDojo launches parent-student messaging for phone-free schools in 2026

ClassDojo is launching parent-student messaging for back-to-school 2026, allowing families to communicate with children in phone-free schools without requiring student devices. The feature enables parents to message their child on school-issued devices like Chromebooks, with teachers included in every conversation. The move addresses an unintended consequence of phone bans: increased pressure on school offices managing family communication. As over 30 US states have moved to restrict student phones, districts have struggled to maintain family connections whilst protecting instructional time. ClassDojo, already used in over 90% of US schools, will deliver the feature through its existing platform, requiring no new app downloads. All messages will be logged and auditable within district environments, with no peer-to-peer chat functionality to avoid classroom distractions.
