Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Public Administration, Information Systems)
  • 5+ years of experience in classification guidance or technical support roles within government agencies
  • Knowledge of DOE classification policies and guidelines
  • Familiarity with classified networks (C-NET, NNSA ESN) and document handling protocols
  • Proficiency in XML editors, SharePoint, and classified document management
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work closely with federal staff on policy and guidance development
  • Attention to detail
  • Competencies including excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe)
  • Security clearance considerations and compliance with e-Verify as applicable
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and revision of classification guidance, working closely with federal staff
  • Perform technical reviews and evaluations of DOE classification guidance
  • Prepare and submit new DOE Headquarters classification guidance for approval
  • Use specialized software (XML editors, SharePoint) to manage and format classification documents
  • Interface with DOE classification staff and other subject-matter experts to support technical guidance development
  • Maintain the accuracy of the Government Digital Technical System (GDTS) and manage the distribution of classification guides and bulletins
  • Provide technical analysis of classification policy revisions and updates
