Be at least 18 years old.
Responsibilities
Provide in-home care that helps elderly clients and clients with intellectual or physical disabilities maintain or gain independence.
Perform housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry.
Prepare meals and cook.
Shop for or with clients for groceries.
Provide transportation and run errands.
Provide personal care and bathing assistance.
Provide companionship.
Take clients to places in the community and socialize with them.
Engage clients in activities such as games and memory books.
Support clients' social and behavioral functioning, coping skills, self-advocacy, confidence building, relationship building, and safe boundaries through coaching, discussion, role-playing, and teaching.
Record daily care notes.
Report significant client changes to the agency office.

This job requires caring for others who need help staying or gaining independence AT THEIR OWN HOME including the elderly or clients with intellectual or physical disabilities of all ages.
Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Caregiver Essential Job Functions (differ based on client needs):
Housekeeping/Cleaning & laundry
Meal preparation & cooking
Grocery shopping for or with the client
Transportation & errands
Personal cares and bathing
Companionship
Visit places in the community/socialize
Engage in activities (games, memory books)
Assist with goals such as, but not limited to social and behavior functioning, coping skills, self-advocacy, confidence building, relationship building, safe boundaries, etc. by Coaching, discussing, roleplaying, teaching etc.
