About the job

Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience building and operating production data pipelines at scale, with hands-on experience across streaming and batch paradigms.
  • Expertise in Apache Kafka or Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka, including topic design, consumer group management, offset handling, schema registry operations, and production troubleshooting of lag, rebalancing, and throughput issues.
  • Strong Structured Query Language and data warehouse engineering skills, with experience in columnar analytical databases such as ClickHouse, Druid, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Proficiency with PySpark or Apache Spark Streaming, including writing transformation jobs that normalize, enrich, and enforce business rules on event streams.
  • Experience with AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, or Apache NiFi is a strong plus.
  • Ability to design normalized, multi-tenant schemas where tenant isolation is implemented through filtering rather than separate schema forks.
  • Experience with data contracts and schema governance.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery and infrastructure as code, including automated testing of data pipelines and version-controlled deployments using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS Cloud Development Kit.
  • Familiarity with containerized workloads such as Amazon Elastic Container Service Fargate or Kubernetes.
  • Experience implementing pipeline health monitoring, automated data validation using Great Expectations or an equivalent tool, freshness checks, and anomaly detection.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue with PySpark or equivalent orchestration and transformation tools.
  • Engineer and optimize the ClickHouse warehouse for sub-second query performance across all back offices.
  • Implement data contracts between back-office systems and the platform so that onboarding a new operator requires a configuration change rather than new tables, topics, or feature views.
  • Build the feature-serving layer that provides precomputed features to artificial intelligence agents at millisecond latency.
  • Integrate with third-party databases, back-office application programming interfaces, and external systems such as customer relationship management, affiliate, and acquisition platforms.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and maintenance procedures, including pipeline health checks, freshness monitoring, anomaly detection, and data contract service-level agreement enforcement.
  • Own continuous integration and continuous delivery and infrastructure as code for data workloads.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, agent engineers, business intelligence developers, and infrastructure teams to translate data requirements into reliable, production-grade pipelines.
  • Participate in design reviews and own decisions within the data platform domain.
  • Support an on-call rotation during the run phase.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in iGaming, online casino, poker, or sportsbook platforms.
  • Exposure to blockchain or crypto-native transaction flows, including on-chain event ingestion, token-denominated accounting, or stablecoin settlement.
  • Experience operating in an AWS-native environment, including Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Elastic Container Service, and AWS Identity and Access Management, with understanding of serverless tradeoffs and infrastructure cost efficiency.
  • Feature store experience with SageMaker, Feast, or Tecton, building offline and online feature pipelines that serve machine learning models at inference time.
  • Prior work in regulated industries such as financial services, gambling, or fintech, where data lineage, auditability, and compliance are required.
  • Experience migrating legacy query engines such as Athena, Trino, or Presto to modern analytical warehouses, including reconciliation frameworks to validate correctness.
