Requirements
  • A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication and Hearing Sciences, or a closely related field; ABD candidates must complete the degree by the applicable stated deadline.
  • A current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
  • Eligibility to obtain Nevada licensure to practice Speech-Language Pathology by the position start date.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without employment sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Teach 24 credits per academic year, equivalent to four courses per semester.
  • Teach speech-language pathology courses to graduate and undergraduate students in in-person, hybrid, and online formats, with the majority delivered in person on campus.
  • Provide undergraduate and/or graduate clinical supervision for clinical practicums on the Nevada State campus or at RiteCare Clinic as part of the course load.
  • Provide academic advising and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with Nevada State University colleagues, the local school district, and partner institutions to prepare speech-language pathologists to work in the community.
  • Participate in service within the School of Education, Nevada State University, and the community, including departmental and college-wide committees.
  • Engage in scholarly activity within the discipline or in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
Desired Qualifications
  • A background in teaching graduate and undergraduate speech pathology courses.
  • At least three years of clinical experience.
  • At least two years of experience with clinical supervision.
  • Experience working with diverse, first-generation, and non-traditional students.
  • Interest in working with a developing team in an area of expertise.
  • Experience with program oversight and development.
  • Expertise working with children and/or adult populations.
  • Experience in university teaching and graduate-level clinical supervision.
  • Experience providing professional development and mentoring to speech-language pathology instructors.
  • Experience with the ASHA Accreditation Process.
