About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- At least 5 years of relevant full-cycle accounting experience is required.
- At least 2 years of formal supervisory or people-management experience is required.
- Payroll processing experience is required.
- International client service or shared services experience is required.
- Serve as the primary client point of contact, deliver tailored accounting solutions, manage budgets and financial forecasts, provide financial insights to improve performance, and maintain client relationships.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax authorities, and government agencies to ensure compliance; implement and update financial policies, controls, and risk management procedures; provide proactive tax advice; and assist in enhancing financial policies.
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in financial processes, design and execute improvements, and work with cross-functional teams to optimize finance-related workflows.
- Collaborate with internal and external personnel and liaise with banks on payroll account openings, updates, and transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and assist the head of Finance and Accounting with budgeting and forecasting.
- Develop strategies to reach goals, provide training to team members, clarify roles and responsibilities, maintain channels for feedback and concerns, and oversee day-to-day operations to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Review disbursements, supplier invoices, contracts, and agreements.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Manage recording and inventory of multiple clients' fixed assets.
- Initiate monthly, quarterly, and annual book closings; prepare and analyze management accounts.
- Prepare supporting records and audit schedules.
- Update bookkeeping and transaction records, and maintain and review the general ledger.
- Review timesheets for payroll processing and prepare and process payroll.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Strong knowledge of general accounting.
- Exposure to Singapore-based companies.
- Experience working in the entertainment industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Oracle, Odoo, and Xero.
