Advisor moves: Missouri-based LPL team decamps to Osaic in full-circle succession. Meanwhile, Cetera has welcomed a family-run practice from Commonwealth, and a Merrill advisor joins an existing UBS team in Connecticut. AUG 18, 2026 A Chesterfield, Missouri-based firm previously affiliated with LPL has joined Millenia Investments and affiliated with Osaic, in a move the companies describe as a full-circle succession story. O'Reilly LLC, which oversees approximately $250 million in client assets, is led by Patrick O'Reilly. The firm was founded by Patrick's father, Michael, and has served the greater St. Louis community for more than 50 years, working with private investors, business owners and ERISA retirement plans. Patrick O'Reilly has joined Millenia Investments as a financial advisor, and Carrie Wyatt has joined as a service advisor support specialist. "Millenia Investments shares our commitment to personal service and long-term relationships," said Patrick O'Reilly, principal owner of O'Reilly LLC. "Through its affiliation with Osaic, we will have access to expanded technology and investment resources that can help us deliver an even more connected and convenient experience for the families and businesses we serve." The move also reunites two firms with a personal history: Michael O'Reilly was an early mentor to Millenia Investments President Stephen Serati and had previously served as Michael's first succession partner before Patrick joined the family business. "Our firms share deep roots in the St. Louis community and a common belief that strong financial guidance begins with trust," Serati said. Millenia Investments is led by Serati and Samantha Estrada, executive manager and registered principal. Through Osaic, the combined firm gains access to the OneView consolidated reporting platform, Osaic's DirectChoice and Wealth Management Platform investment solutions, and tax planning software intended to support higher-net-worth client relationships. Cetera welcomes former Commonwealth advisor and family practice. Notching another addition to its record of recruitment from Commonwealth, Cetera has added Kim Hellerman-Hersman and her family-run practice, Harbor Financial Advisors, along with advisor Bryan T. Fox and their support staff. The team serves clients in more than 20 states and manages approximately $175 million in assets under administration. Hellerman-Hersman spent 24 years at Concourse Financial Group Securities before moving to Commonwealth in 2023. Cetera agreed to acquire Concourse in November in a transaction that was completed early last year, which brought several of her former colleagues into the Cetera network. Fox joined the practice in 2018 and has worked alongside Hellerman-Hersman since. The team's decision followed LPL's industry-shaking acquisition of Commonwealth last year. That deal pushed the pair to reassess their options before choosing Cetera, which won them over with its boutique service model and Fidelity's NFS as a familiar custodial platform. UBS draws Merrill advisor in Connecticut. UBS has hired Financial Advisor Brandon Burleigh in its Hartford, Connecticut office, where he joins the five-advisor Stone Harbor Group. The Hartford office is managed by Gabriel D'Amica, part of the Greater New York Metro Market led by Mara Glassel. Burleigh has been registered in the industry for four years. He most recently worked at Merrill Lynch and began his career at Northwestern Mutual, according to his BrokerCheck record. Burleigh is a US Army veteran who holds degrees from Post University in business finance and business administration, along with the chartered retirement planning counselor and certified financial planner designations.
The other side of the great wealth transfer. Partner Insights from Americans are retiring and passing along wealth in record numbers. For advisory firms, this "great wealth transfer" can put 10% or more of AUM at risk. This exclusive research from Financial Planning, in partnership with Cetera, finds 58% of asset movement is due to lack of a relationship between advisors and heirs. The report delivers analysis of real AUM losses, as well as actions to prevent them, including: * The most (and least) common wealth transfer advisory strategies * How to build engagement with younger-generation clients * The impact of digital tools and broker-dealer support for multigenerational engagement "The gap between firms' awareness of their vulnerability in the Great Wealth Transfer and the actions they've taken to address it remains one of the defining traits of today's advisory landscape," says Clint Brookshire, Community Leader at Cetera. Download the report to see how to close the gap, turning the Great Wealth Transfer from risk to opportunity. Cetera welcomes former Commonwealth advisors Jim Tucker, Patrick Bria and their team overseeing approximately $420 million in AUA. Aug 12, 2026, 08:05 ET After building their businesses over two decades, the advisors chose Cetera's Summit community for its high-touch service, flexibility and commitment to helping advisors operate their way SAN DIEGO, Aug. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Cetera welcomes financial advisors Jim Tucker, CFP(R), CRPS(R), and Patrick Bria, and the Tucker Bria Wealth Strategies team overseeing approximately $420 million in AUA[1]. Tucker Bria Wealth Strategies joined Cetera through its Summit Financial Networks[2] community. Based in Durham, North Carolina, co-founders Tucker and Bria have built their practice together since 2013. The two have been friends since their teenage years in Pittsburgh, and later were teammates on Duke University's varsity swim team. Tucker Bria Wealth Strategies - a name built around the firm's belief that "Life alters wealth(R)" - provides individualized financial planning and wealth management to individuals and families navigating life's transitions, from wealth creation and preservation to windfalls such as inheritances and business sales. The move to Cetera follows more than a decade at Commonwealth Financial Network, a firm Tucker and Bria deliberately chose for its culture of experienced advisors and personalized support. When LPL announced its acquisition of Commonwealth, the partners launched a monthslong search for a new financial services partner, including traditional broker-dealers and RIA models. Keeping continuity for clients, some of whom have been with the practice since its inception, was central to their search. With Cetera, the firm could maintain its existing custodian, Fidelity's NFS. Another key decision point was Cetera's flexibility, which allowed Tucker Bria to continue using third-party technology that had become integral to their client service model during their years at Commonwealth. Ultimately, the firm wanted access to a well-established and scaled infrastructure, products, services and AI-powered growth resources - tools designed to augment how advisors already work, not change how they operate - without asking the practice to give up how it runs its business. "We were deliberate about choosing Commonwealth, and we were just as deliberate about where we went next. We wanted a partner strong enough to provide the compliance, technology and back-office support we didn't want to build ourselves, but flexible enough to let us keep running our business exactly the way we always have," Tucker said. "Summit has a clear reason for being, the same way our previous firm did, and that mattered to us as much as anything else." The firm's high-touch approach to client service - centered on close, ongoing relationships rather than scale, with regularly scheduled client meetings and financial planning built around each family's specific circumstances - was also at the forefront of their decision-making process. "We tell our team to love our clients, not because of what they've entrusted to us, but because that's simply the standard we hold ourselves to," Bria said. "Our next-gen advisors are in the room with clients from day one, learning the relationships, not just the technical side of the job. Because of this, our clients know their advisor team is going to be in place for the next 30-plus years." Tucker Bria's next generation - including Wealth Advisors Josh Polidori, CFP(R), CPFA(R); Financial Planning Associate Chris Bleeker; and Financial Planning Associate Taylor Clement, CFP(R)- already serves as the primary point of contact for many of the firm's second- and third-generation clients. Tucker is also the author of Family, Legacy, Wealth: How to Nurture and Grow Your Family Orchard, a book designed to help families define and pass on their legacy, one that goes beyond money. Welcoming the Tucker Bria team, Cetera Advisor Channel Leader Tom Halloran said: "Jim and Pat have spent decades building something special together that grew into a client-centered practice with the kind of robust next-gen advisor strategy that doesn't happen by accident. We're thrilled to welcome Jim, Pat and their team to Cetera, and we're eager to help them expand their legacy for many years to come."
