Responsibilities
  • Ensure scholars are full participants in a structured, productive, and safe learning environment through participation, consistent routines, meaningful work, celebration of character values, and balanced warmth and strictness.
  • Backwards-plan lessons, clearly communicate objectives, execute rigorous course materials, assist scholars in making meaningful connections, and use formal and informal data to ensure mastery.
  • Ensure scholars synthesize diverse information, complete the cognitive work during lessons, build upon peers' thinking, receive feedback, take academic risks, and provide meaningful oral or written evidence.
  • Ensure scholars demonstrate mastery of rigorous course goals, monitor each scholar's progress toward objectives, use formal and informal assessments, and keep scholars on track to achieve or surpass course learning goals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the team and continuous improvement through collaboration, ownership of shared culture, solutions-oriented practice, and regular engagement with observations and coaching.
Desired Qualifications
  • State certification is preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience in a school serving a similar population to Tulsa Honor Academy is preferred.
  • Charter school experience is preferred.
