Chris Hemsworth teams up with Archie Rose for global whisky campaign.

Chris Hemsworth teams up with Archie Rose for global whisky campaign. October 23, 2026 Deal Type: Global Brand Campaign & Co-Ownership Announced: October 2026 * Co-owner Chris Hemsworth stars in and produces "True Story," an action-parody campaign film to spearhead the global and U.S. expansion of Sydney-based Archie Rose Distilling Co. * Directed by Justin McMillan, the film features Chris spinning an absurd tall tale about hauling whisky across deserts on camels and swimming across oceans to his unimpressed real-life brother, actor Luke Hemsworth. * The release introduces lighter, freight-efficient bottles for three co-created whiskies (Single Malt, Straight Rye Malt, and Australian Original Whisky) distributed in the U.S. via Reyes Beverage Group following Archie Rose's B Corp certification. Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth has unveiled his first global campaign for Archie Rose Distilling Co. since joining the company as co-owner. Titled "True Story," the cinematic 105-second film parodies overly dramatic liquor commercials with dry Australian humor to drive the brand's United States rollout. Directed by Justin McMillan and filmed across eight Australian locations, the spot features Hemsworth spinning an outrageous tale to an unimpressed bar patron played by his brother, actor Luke Hemsworth. Chris exaggerates the mission of exporting spirits: leading camels across desert dunes, climbing rocky cliffs, and swimming across the ocean while towing a barge full of whisky barrels. The campaign builds directly on the equity partnership finalized when Chris Hemsworth became co-owner of Archie Rose Distilling Co. alongside founder Will Edwards. While Archie Rose historically avoided celebrity ambassadors to spotlight local malt and rye growers, Hemsworth joined as an active creative partner. The actor adds this spirits venture to an endorsement track record that includes global partnerships with Hugo Boss, TAG Heuer, and Tourism Australia. Hemsworth's move mirrors a growing industry shift toward stars taking direct equity stakes in beverage companies, similar to when Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel became co-founders of PRODA and when J Balvin was named brand ambassador for Jameson. Archie Rose, Australia's largest independent whisky maker and a certified B Corp, developed the identity with design agency Thirst and national distributor Reyes Beverage Group. The campaign introduces three co-created whiskies in lighter, freight-efficient bottles: Single Malt Whisky, Straight Rye Malt Whisky, and Australian Original Whisky. The release caps a busy period for Hemsworth, who voiced Orion Pax in Transformers One, wrapped the thriller Crime 101, and prepares to reprise Thor in Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday. Traditional spirits marketing has long leaned on slow-motion pours, dim jazz lounges, and serious voiceovers. Archie Rose completely rejects that playbook by transforming action-movie tropes into dry self-parody. Because Chris Hemsworth is an equity owner rather than a hired face, the comedic tone feels organic and distinct from typical corporate endorsements. Featuring his brother Luke adds natural comedic timing and reinforces the distillery's down-to-earth Australian identity. Paired with sustainable, lightweight packaging designed to cut global shipping emissions, Archie Rose is entering the competitive American spirits space with an engaging, memorable introduction. Does a funny, satirical parody make you more inclined to purchase a premium whisky than a classic luxury commercial? How does an actor holding co-ownership equity influence your trust in a product compared to a standard celebrity sponsorship? Would you like to see Chris and Luke Hemsworth team up for more comedic film projects together?

As category lines blur, alcohol distributors build total beverage portfolios.

As category lines blur, alcohol distributors build total beverage portfolios. The beverage alcohol distribution tier is experiencing an historic reset in the wake of Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) - previously the No.-2 wine and spirits wholesaler - divesting its business and filing for bankruptcy. "As we watch RNDC withdraw from a number of states and transact, it was the larger beer network that went in almost to be a safety net and help those products not miss a beat and get to market," says Craig Purser, president and CEO, National Beer Wholesalers Association. Beer distributors acquiring markets from RNDC include Reyes Beverage Group (RBG), Quality Brands, Columbia Distributing, Morales Beverage Group, and Manhattan Beer & Beverage. Chicago, Illinois-based Reyes - the largest U.S. beer wholesaler - acquired a large share of RNDC's business in a deal for 11 markets accounting for more than $5 billion in revenues last year. Reyes Beverage Group Spirits and Wine is now the No.-3 wine and spirits wholesaler in the U.S. after Southern Glazer's and Breakthru. "Through acquisition and expansion, we've broadened our footprint, adding new markets, talent, capabilities, and supplier partnerships to our business," says RBG CEO Tom Day, who will be among the speakers at this Thursday's 50th Annual Impact Marketing Seminar in New York. "We're increasing category fluency across the organization to deliver on our total beverage strategy with elite execution, and as we invest in the tools, technology, infrastructure, and people that move our business forward, we're confident our biggest opportunities still lie ahead."
