Requirements
  • The candidate must be a current active-duty servicemember separating from the military in 4–12 months.
  • The candidate must be able to complete a SkillBridge apprenticeship lasting at least 8 weeks and up to 6 months.
  • The candidate must be able to work 40 hours per week and be mechanically minded.
  • The candidate must complete a background check, motor vehicle record check, and physical and drug screening.
  • The candidate must have 3–5 years of relevant experience in commercial petroleum construction installation or supervision.
  • The candidate must hold ICC UST Install/Retrofit, ICC UST Removal, ICC Service Technician, and Veeder Root certifications.
  • The candidate must have strong judgment and adaptability to changing field conditions and requirements.
  • The candidate must hold a 24- or 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate or a current 8-hour refresher course.
  • The candidate must have a valid driver's license.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, and Word.
  • The candidate must be able to drive to job sites, occasionally covering distances of up to 1,000 miles per week, and must be available for occasional out-of-town work.
  • The candidate must be proficient in reading and interpreting design plans and machine diagnostic reports.
  • The candidate must be capable of driving and hauling a trailer to and from job sites.
  • The candidate must be able to navigate dirt, cement, asphalt, uneven concrete, and other job-site terrains.
  • The candidate must be physically capable of climbing ladders and stairs and kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, and twisting at the waist and neck.
  • The candidate must communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members and maintain organized, clean job sites.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and actively participate in all on-site activities and capture comprehensive photo documentation for each project phase.
  • Maintain a constant presence in the work area unless temporarily relieved by an approved interim foreman.
  • Coordinate procurement of materials such as gravel and concrete and document rental equipment.
  • Inspect and inventory delivered equipment, materials, and parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Schedule and oversee inspections, liaise with inspectors, and manage subcontractor activities.
  • Conduct and document daily safety meetings and identify and address potential work-area hazards.
  • Enforce safety requirements for all personnel and ensure site cleanliness and security.
  • Report accidents and incidents promptly to the Project Manager or Construction Manager.
  • Manage the job schedule and address daily issues affecting timelines with the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
  • Keep the project within allocated labor hours, consult with the Construction Manager or Project Manager before implementing overtime, and complete and submit daily logs.
  • Provide the Project Manager with installation and operating instructions for new equipment.
  • Complete and submit warranty documents for new equipment and provide detailed as-built drawings.
  • Train as a Construction Foreman responsible for overseeing construction tasks, supervising on-site personnel and subcontractors, coordinating projects, supporting profitability, meeting client expectations, delivering quality results, and serving as the Job Site Safety Officer.
