Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in any field is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience working in undergraduate admission is required.
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of the admission cycle, application review process, student recruitment, and key industry metrics is required.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives and planning recruitment travel is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other basic technology is required.
  • Experience with Technolutions Slate is required.
  • Ability to travel on weekdays and weekends, with a valid driver's license and passport, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze current and historical enrollment trends across all territories to develop a strategy that supports the University’s enrollment goals.
  • Make recommendations to the Executive Director and Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management to improve the admission process and recruitment initiatives.
  • Help develop a national recruitment plan through analysis of market forces, recruitment practices, marketing resources, and professional networking activities.
  • Manage, train, develop, and support a team of admission counselors.
  • Evaluate return on investment for travel and recruiting expenses.
  • Recruit students within a small territory and provide support and service to prospective students from the inquiry stage through enrollment.
  • Meet yearly enrollment goals for the assigned territory.
  • Work autonomously, be proactive, take initiative, and make ethical decisions.
  • Provide input as a senior staff member on staff and departmental issues for the Executive Director’s attention.
  • Provide an excellent customer service experience and maintain a student-centered attitude throughout the role.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support recruiting and enrollment.
  • Work in person on Howard University’s main campus, generally 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, with weekends and evenings as necessary and approximately 40% travel during September, October, March, and April.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with Workday Student is preferred.
