Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare, insurance verification, or a related field.

  • Technical proficiency in navigating multiple systems while maintaining attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Fluency with role-specific tools and resources, with heavy reliance on Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Nevada Medicaid programs, including benefits, eligibility requirements, and enrollment processes, through state-agency contacts, online resources, and relevant Medicaid meetings.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for questions related to Medicaid eligibility.
  • Verify patient eligibility for Medicaid benefits using online systems and tools.
  • Assist patients with the preliminary review of Medicaid application documentation and requirements, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Confirm coverage details and determine patient benefits and processing requirements based on Medicaid guidelines.
  • Investigate eligibility issues, deferrals, denials, and recertifications by contacting patients or their representatives, identifying causes, and recommending resolutions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of verification processes and outcomes.
  • Update patient records in Salesforce to reflect current Medicaid status.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Medicaid inquiries from clients, caregivers, and health plan partners.
  • Assist clients in understanding Medicaid eligibility, benefits, and application processes.
  • Advocate for clients to ensure they receive appropriate Medicaid services.
  • Respond to patient and healthcare-provider inquiries regarding Medicaid coverage and eligibility.
  • Work with partner departments to resolve issues related to Medicaid coverage and recertification.
  • Assist with training staff members on Medicaid verification procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate with partner departments, case managers, and healthcare professionals to support patients’ access to Medicaid benefits.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree or higher in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with Medicaid verification and knowledge of Medicaid regulations are highly preferred.
  • Customer-service experience demonstrating empathy, active listening, and patience.
  • Adaptability in a high-call-volume environment.
  • Ability to embrace change and departmental growth in an evergreen environment.
