  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

Responsibilities
  • On a day-to-day basis, data entry, collect transactions, track debits, and maintain and monitor financial records
  • Pay invoices, complete payroll, file tax returns, and maintain office supplies
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a monthly basis
  • Assist with the preparation of annual tax returns and liaise with external accountants
  • Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries; balance subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries
  • Clarify and book “Ask My Accountant” items as instructed by management
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions
  • Develop a system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
  • Generate monthly financial reports, including a profit and loss statement and balance sheet; present reports to the business owner with explanations for significant changes
  • Create and post journal entries in QuickBooks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including all transactions, expenses, revenues, and balances
  • Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents
  • Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts and posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance
  • Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable; ensure bills and payments align
  • Manage cash flow and monitor budgets to keep within limits
  • Perform other bookkeeping, account reconciling, account setup, journal entry, and business support-related items as needed
  • Prepare journal entries as required
  • Prepare monthly financial reports including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
  • Provide tax support including preparing and filing tax returns and meeting deadlines
  • QuickBooks clarification: clarify unclear transactions and assist with booking “Ask My Accountant” items
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Reconciling accounts and recording transactions in QuickBooks accurately and timely
  • Tax preparation support: work with business owner’s tax preparer to provide accurate financial information
Desired Qualifications
