Requirements
  • Experience working with children ages 2-10.
  • Availability on weekday evenings between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and/or weekends between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
  • Ability to work through the Summer and Winter seasons.
  • Passion for working with and engaging young children.
  • Reliability and professionalism.
  • An energetic, enthusiastic, and outgoing personality when working with children, parents, and co-workers.
  • Ability to be playful, fun, and imaginative with children.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with children and deliver feedback to parents.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to coach sports skills and games with young children for more than two hours.
Responsibilities
  • Create fun and engaging experiences for youth and families.
  • Coach basketball skills and games for children ages 2-10.
  • Teach dribbling, passing, shooting, teamwork, scrimmages, competitive play, game-like situations, and skill development according to player age and ability.
  • Engage young children in organized activities and maintain a playful, imaginative coaching environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preference for coaches with experience across a wider age range.
  • Experience working with children of all ages from 2-14.
  • Experience coaching both toddler and youth age groups.
  • Experience with other young-child sports organizations or soccer environments, including SportBall, City Camps, Pedalheads, Little Kickers, Timbits Soccer, and house leagues.
  • Coaching certification such as Active Start, FUNdamentals, or Learn to Train is an asset.
