Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or one year of experience in a clinical setting is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • The role requires the ability to use and care for printers, embossers, computers, and other equipment.
  • The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
  • The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The role requires the ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • The role requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, walk, and perform normal rotation during an 8–12 hour shift.
  • The role requires the ability to work around biohazards and infectious diseases.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic nursing skills under the direction and supervision of the practice physician and registered nursing staff.
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, obtain initial information and vital signs, and prepare patients for physician visits.
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and availability of supplies.
  • Assist with or perform examinations, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and establish referral contacts as needed.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients about follow-up expectations.
  • Maintain required quality-control testing logs.
  • Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
  • Perform office administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking messages, copying, printing, data entry, depositing cash, and other closing duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of healthcare education coursework.
  • One year of healthcare experience.
