Requirements
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, laboratory techniques, clinical procedures, and pharmaceutical Medical Assistant principles.
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
  • Use active listening, time management, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to use medical equipment, computers, and medical and office software.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant course.
  • Must pass required criminal history checks and monthly checks against OIG, GSA, and other federal and state agency exclusion lists.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and personal auto insurance for privately owned vehicles used for CCS business, with at least $300,000 bodily injury liability coverage and $100,000 property damage coverage, maintained throughout employment.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements, including occasional lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds.
  • AAMA certification or AMT registration is preferred within one year of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Assist care providers with delivery of patient care and treatment.
  • Interact with patients in person while performing simple procedures or treatments and by phone.
  • Perform administrative, clerical, and clinical duties under the direction of Licensed Medical Personnel.
  • Promote the team concept and the Health Department's mission and values.
  • Greet patients and visitors.
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments.
  • Complete and submit insurance forms.
  • Establish and maintain patient charts.
  • File, update, and maintain medical records.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms.
  • Prepare patients for examinations.
  • Assist Licensed Medical Personnel during examinations.
  • Schedule and report laboratory work.
  • Maintain inventories and order medication.
  • Coordinate with Licensed Medical Personnel to obtain appropriate prescription medication for patients.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • AAMA certification or AMT registration within one year of hire.
