Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty or field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a minimum of 12–16 courses per term and participate in annual instructor updates and instructor development programs.
  • Provide didactic instruction and psychomotor skills training, and administer cognitive assessments and skills performance evaluations to course learners.
  • Serve as course coordinator for on-site courses by managing time, overseeing instructors, and ensuring course goals and objectives are met.
  • Promote positive communications about the Center and its programs within the allied healthcare community and contribute to the Center's responsiveness to constituent agency educational needs.
  • Assist with compiling educational research data.
  • Provide remedial tutoring to learners with identified deficiencies in course requirements.
  • Contribute to developing objective criteria for skills performance evaluation.
  • Participate in testing and analyzing educational tools used in PETD/GC courses.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the latest evidence for the subject matters being taught.
  • Act as liaison with identified users of the Center's course curricula and provide hands-on implementation.
  • Evaluate and contribute to revising, editing, and updating PET courses to ensure materials meet current guidelines and standards established by appropriate agencies.
  • Assist in training and preparing standardized patients incorporated into course instruction.
  • Contribute to developing or implementing case-based scenarios that test learner knowledge and skills through simulation and standardized patients.
  • Manage off-site courses in Florida, the United States, and possibly internationally.
  • Set up and break down equipment and furniture and put them away as required by the course.
  • Assist with equipment and supply inventory maintenance.
  • Contribute as a member of at least one performance improvement committee.
  • Participate in Center presentations to community, political, and medical audiences.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
