Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or specialized experience in Architecture, Building Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Technical experience applying building science principles, understanding commercial building maintenance and remodel strategies, and determining causes of moisture intrusion.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word; reading and taking measurements; blueprint reading; and mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States, with 30–50% expected travel, and hold a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to hear, speak, smell, see at close and distant ranges, distinguish color and depth, and adjust focus.
  • Ability to climb and work from heights, safely lift 50 pounds, work outdoors, and walk on uneven ground or terrain.
Responsibilities
  • Perform professional-tier onsite building-envelope consulting and diagnostic assessments, moisture-intrusion surveys, failure investigations, coating-condition assessments, and paint and building-repair quality-assurance inspections.
  • Coordinate with peers, external consulting engineering firms, and commercial building owners to gain insight and determine the root causes of identified problems.
  • Explore client needs, verify understanding of those needs, and prepare responsive proposals offering solutions to building-envelope and moisture-intrusion problems.
  • Prepare written technical reports based on field assessments, including scopes of work, specifications, and remediation recommendations for building and coating issues, with minimal guidance.
  • Coordinate building inspection staff and review their reports and client deliverables for accuracy.
  • Manage project assignments on time, on scope, and within budget in conformance with the company's scope of services and corporate quality standards.
  • Support and progressively lead business-development initiatives, including client relationship management, identifying new service opportunities, proposal strategy, and contributing to the department's long-term growth and leadership succession.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bluebeam Pro.
  • A professional engineering or architectural license.
  • Registered Roof Observer certification, Association for Materials Protection and Performance coatings credentials, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design credentials.
