About the job
- One to five years of experience writing Java code.
- Ability to work independently.
- Direct client contact and consulting capability.
- Knowledge of Java, Java applets, web programming, web user interface design, software requirements, the software development process, object-oriented design, multimedia content development, and software debugging.
- Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements and envisioning system features and functionality.
- Design and develop user interfaces for internet and intranet applications throughout the development life cycle.
- Determine design methodologies and toolsets, complete programming, and design and conduct tests.
- Recommend system solutions by comparing custom development and purchase alternatives.
- Integrate applications by designing database architecture and server scripting and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.
- Create multimedia applications using authoring tools.
- Coordinate application-development requirements, schedules, and activities.
- Participate in team meetings and troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
- Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
- Research new internet and intranet technologies and software products to maintain job knowledge.
- Accept ownership of new and different requests and explore opportunities to add value to completed work.
