About the Job

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale software programs for SoC-based systems, ideally in Automotive IVI or adjacent embedded domains.
  • Strong background in the software development lifecycle for SDKs and application frameworks, including integration and release engineering.
  • Proven ability to leverage AI-driven automation tools to optimize program delivery, including streamlining requirements management and cross-functional reporting.
  • Proven ability to drive multiple concurrent strategic programs while managing competing priorities across customers, platforms, and product lines.
  • Solid understanding of SoC architectures and common IP blocks, including CPU, GPU, display, audio, connectivity, and safety/security IP, and their implications for software enablement and performance.
  • Demonstrated experience with program metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting, and familiarity with budget, headcount, and resource planning.
  • Ability to align diverse stakeholders, from engineers to executives, around complex technical and schedule decisions.
  • Experience operating in a large, matrixed organization and achieving results through influence, leadership, and escalation management rather than direct authority.
  • Track record of delivering end-to-end program outcomes from inception through production.
  • Experience defining program scope, success criteria, and KPIs in collaboration with architects, systems engineers, and business leaders, and using data to steer programs.
  • Ability to provide clear, concise messaging about software status, risks, and decisions to internal and external senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including structured risk management, scenario planning, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 12+ years of relevant experience in software program management, software development, or embedded systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive software program execution for strategic IVI platforms, ensuring SDKs, software suites, and integrated software solutions meet scope, quality, and schedule commitments aligned with hardware milestones.
  • Lead cross-functional release planning for SDKs and integrated software stacks, including features, target platforms, operating-system support, toolchains, and reference applications, with software architects, product management, and OEM/Tier-1 customers.
  • Define, maintain, and own software program plans and release roadmaps, including dependencies on silicon, boards, firmware, BSPs, middleware, applications, safety/security components, and ecosystem partners.
  • Drive coordinated release readiness for Automotive IVI software through core team meetings.
  • Report software execution and release status to senior leadership, communicating schedule changes, critical issues, risks, and mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve standardized software execution and release processes, including integration gates, release criteria, defect triage, branching and labeling, and release documentation.
  • Lead prioritization and resolution of critical defects and integration issues across BSP, drivers, middleware, applications, silicon/platform teams, and customer engineering organizations.
  • Manage software-related escalations, establish and run tiger teams, drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions, and ensure timely, transparent stakeholder communication.
  • Facilitate closure of complex cross-company issues and dependencies involving AMD teams, Automotive OEMs/Tier-1s, and ecosystem partners, including OS vendors, middleware providers, and tool vendors.
  • Align IVI software roadmaps with AMD technology roadmaps and lead migration strategies for customers on prior generations.
  • Support pre-design-win and post-design-win activities for strategic Automotive accounts by providing software roadmaps, schedules, and feature commitments, and coordinating early SDKs, evaluation kits, and reference demos.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Automotive IVI software such as Android Automotive, Linux, Xen, or QNX.
