Requirements
  • Three to five years of sales and marketing experience in the energy services sector, with a strong understanding of industry dynamics.
  • Proven sales success and an established network within the drilling and completions sector are strong assets.
  • Strong communication, customer relationship management, and sales skills.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and team-oriented.
  • Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, customer relationship management platforms, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to lead discussions and represent the company externally.
  • In-depth knowledge of remediation, reclamation, and drilling waste sectors, including relevant industry regulations.
  • Strength in corporate proposal development and delivery of compelling, client-focused presentations.
Responsibilities
  • Build and nurture relationships with key customers, proactively addressing inquiries and resolving concerns.
  • Execute a strategic, key performance indicator-driven sales process through structured daily and weekly call planning, using customer relationship management tools to manage and track customer accounts.
  • Support pricing and proposal development, manage customer agreements (master service agreements), and assist with customer account maintenance, including invoicing coordination.
  • Serve as a liaison between divisions to identify cross-functional sales opportunities and ensure appropriate follow-up by divisional representatives.
  • Deliver regular updates and insights through weekly sales meetings and performance reports.
  • Share business development progress and pipeline opportunities with senior management through reports and discussions.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and cultivate relationships.
  • Maintain an active presence in relevant industry networks to stay informed and connected.
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to inform sales strategies across existing service lines.
  • Contribute insight and input to divisional sales strategy sessions to support growth initiatives.
  • Travel throughout Western Canada as needed to support customer engagement and business development efforts.
  • Be available outside standard business hours on occasion, based on business needs.

GFL to acquire Secure Waste for $6.4B, adding 80+ facilities across Western Canada

GFL Environmental has agreed to acquire Secure Waste Infrastructure for $6.4 billion, expanding its presence in Western Canada and North Dakota. The deal includes over 80 locations comprising 12 landfills, 55 waste treatment facilities, 12 recycling facilities, 98 injection wells and five transfer stations. Secure shareholders can choose $24.75 in cash, 0.4195 GFL subordinate voting shares, or a combination for each share held. Cash payments are capped at 20% of the total consideration, with GFL shares limited to 80%. GFL founder and CEO Patrick Dovigi said the acquisition will densify the company's Western Canada footprint and enhance its ability to offer comprehensive waste management services. The transaction requires shareholder approval and is expected to close in the second half of 2025.
