Responsibilities
Answer patient inquiries by incoming and outgoing calls regarding billing, procedures, policies, and available services.
Act as a liaison between patients and insurance companies, and facilitate communication between patients, doctors, medical staff, and administrative staff.
Maintain patient records, filing, and documentation.
Perform set-up and data entry.
Package and ship items.
Arrange financial matters and collect co-payments.
Coordinate benefits.
Coordinate financial assistance.
Assist offices with prior authorizations.
Perform billing.
Work as a team member within the patient services department and other departments to promote information sharing and continuous process improvement.
Follow standard written procedures and guidelines; any deviation must be approved by the supervising pharmacist.
Desired Qualifications
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is preferred.
Experience working with an online claims processing system is preferred.

Overview
The Patient Care Specialist, under the supervision of Manager, Operations & Compliance, assists in the various activities of the pharmacy operations not requiring the professional judgment of the pharmacist. The Patient Care Specialist is primarily responsible for incoming and outgoing calls from customers regarding drug delivery, set-up and all related services.
This position will be hybrid 2 days onsite and 3 days remote after three months of onsite training (M-F 8:30am-5pm). After training, scheduling includes one opening shift, two mid-shifts and one closing shift per week. Associates who work evening hours after 6pm are eligible for a shift differential.
Qualifications

Hiring Compensation Range: $22.50 - $23.50 hourly
Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.
In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
