Aegon AM targets CoCos with credit fund launch. Managed by Alex Pelteshki and Iain Buckle 24 August 2026 Aegon Asset Management has launched the Aegon Financial Credit Opportunities fund. It will be managed by investment manager Alex Pelteshki and head of UK fixed income Iain Buckle, supported by four credit analysts. The strategy aims to provide a steady income with the potential for capital growth by investing in global banks and financial institutions. It will have a concentrated portfolio of around 40-100 securities and is expected to have relatively low sensitivity to interest rate risk. At least 65% of the portfolio will be invested in contingent convertibles (CoCos). Buckle said: "As we build on our fixed income expertise and offering, creating a dedicated strategy designed to provide investors with targeted exposure to financial credits, a rapidly evolving and increasingly important segment of the market, was a natural next step." Pelteshki added: "With differentiated risk characteristics and income potential, capital securities can represent a compelling opportunity, particularly for investors focused on generating income, whatever the market environment." Aegon, the multinational life insurance, pensions, retirement and asset management group, has announced a series of leadership changes as it progresses plans to relocate its head office and legal seat from the Netherlands to the United States. The company has confirmed that Will Fuller will become President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) from the 1st of January 2027. In the role, he will assume responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of Transamerica, Aegon's international operations and Aegon Asset Management. Aegon said Fuller will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Lard Friese, who will remain in his current position and retain responsibility for the group's strategic direction, overall performance and leadership. Friese added: "Will is a highly experienced leader with deep knowledge of our businesses and the opportunities ahead. Will's appointment further strengthens our leadership team and supports the disciplined execution of our strategy as Aegon relocates to the United States." Fuller joined Aegon in March 2021 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Transamerica.
