Requirements
  • Completed LVN training program from an accredited school.
  • Valid LVN license.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid lifesaving certification.
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting; ambulatory care experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual ability is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with patients and providers from differing backgrounds.
  • Customer-service orientation.
  • Strong and intermediate computer skills, including familiarity with modern office practices, procedures, and email.
  • Familiarity with adult learning and general training techniques.
  • Flexibility and dependability.
  • Problem-solving skills and sound judgment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support for clinical staff across a region of health centers under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations.
  • Support the health center's quality improvement and compliance goals by ensuring required regulations are met.
  • Communicate with appropriate personnel to examine, revise, and evaluate clinic processes for efficiency.
  • Train provider, nursing, and clinical staff on procedures, forms, procedural changes, and clinical workflows as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of clinical supplies, vaccines, equipment, and medication.
  • Communicate consistently and openly with the Health Center Manager and staff.
  • Work flexible or extended hours when necessary.
  • Travel to other UHC clinics when staffing needs require personnel.
  • Provide telephone advice regarding care according to health center protocols.
  • Supervise treatment-room functions and serve as the primary staff member in this area.
  • Administer medication and treatments ordered by physicians or provider staff.
  • Organize and appropriately set up examination rooms for each patient exam.
  • Collect and prepare specimens and maintain required logs.
  • Perform electrocardiograms, accu-checks, and other diagnostic procedures according to guidelines.
  • Keep patients informed about upcoming procedures and requirements and facilitate their focus, involvement, and cooperation.
  • Provide patients with required educational materials, including vaccine information statements, and explain their content and answer questions.
  • Attend and actively participate in department, program, and employee staff meetings and other required activities.
  • Attend workshops and seminars as necessary to increase skills and knowledge for effective care, treatment, and leadership.
  • Complete the required annual continuing-education hours.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect information about patients and team members in accordance with UHC confidentiality rules and HIPAA privacy regulations.
  • Contribute to positive staff interaction and open communication across programs and departments.
  • Perform other work-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
