  • Support sustainment and new feature development by ensuring test coverage evolves with changing architecture and requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience architecting test solutions for service meshes such as Istio and Linkerd, multi-cluster deployments, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes-native testing and policy enforcement tools such as Sonobuoy, Kyverno, OPA, Chaos Mesh, and LitmusChaos.
  • Experience supporting Agile teams as a quality coach, helping mature engineering flow, shift-left testing, and continuous quality practices.
  • Knowledge of performance, scalability, and load-testing tools for distributed cloud systems such as Locust, k6, and JMeter.
  • Relevant certifications such as CKA, CKAD, CKS, cloud provider certifications, or equivalent.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple Agile teams or product lines, especially in scaled frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Scrum@Scale.

About the company

RTX produces jet engines, cockpit electronics, and avionics through Pratt & Whitney and Collins Aerospace, and develops defense systems and missiles via Raytheon. Pratt & Whitney engines provide propulsion for commercial and military aircraft, while Collins Aerospace supplies flight controls, navigation, and integrated cockpit systems, and Raytheon offers missiles, radar, and sensing technologies. The company differentiates itself by offering a single, integrated portfolio that spans both commercial aviation and national defense under one corporate umbrella, drawing on the legacy of Raytheon and UTC. Its goal is to help customers fly more efficiently and protect nations by advancing propulsion, electronics, and defense technologies for civilian air travel and security needs.

What believers are saying

  • RTX raised 2026 guidance after Q2 sales reached $24.7 billion and EPS hit $1.89.
  • Raytheon's 2026 framework agreements target annual output above 1,000 Tomahawks and 500 SM-6s.
  • GTF Advantage certification and Airbus deliveries extend Pratt & Whitney's recovery into 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Pratt & Whitney's GTF powder-metal issue still drives inspections, grounded jets, and lawsuits.
  • SEC subpoenas and DOJ agreements keep Raytheon's legacy conduct under active scrutiny.
  • Persistent GTF failures or fixed-price overruns can erase cash flow and damage airline trust.

What makes RTX unique

  • RTX pairs $289 billion backlog with balanced defense and commercial aerospace exposure.
  • Raytheon wins $24.4 billion SM-6 and $22.9 billion Tomahawk production contracts.
  • Pratt & Whitney and Collins feed recurring aftermarket revenue across Airbus and military fleets.

Collins Aerospace launches ARINCDirect OpenAPI to link flight support data across systems

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has launched ARINCDirect OpenAPI, which lets operators feed ARINCDirect flight planning, trip and performance data straight into their existing digital platforms. The company announced the tool in Las Vegas on October 21, 2026. Customers and partners can automatically receive flight plan status, airspace information, trip performance and logbook data without re-keying or reformatting it. Early adopters have built the API into their enterprise tools, which cut manual data entry and sped up updates. "Business aviation flight schedules can shift by the minute," said Nicole White, vice president and general manager of Connected Aviation at Collins Aerospace. The modular design lets customers tailor how the interface connects to their systems.

Pratt & Whitney Canada unveils certified PT9 turboprop with 33% more power, 20% less fuel use

Pratt & Whitney Canada, an RTX business, unveiled its PT9 turboprop engine in Las Vegas on October 21, 2026. The engine delivers 33% more power at altitude and cuts fuel consumption by 20% compared with previous generation engines. The PT9 logged more than 14,000 development hours and was recently certified by Transport Canada. Its modular design can be tailored to different airframes and is built to support electric and hybrid thermal-electric powerplants. Production will take place in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, the company's global Center of Excellence for the PT6 family of turboprop engines. "The PT9 engine represents the next evolution of turboprop propulsion," said Satheeshkumar Kumarasingam, president of Pratt & Whitney Canada.

Collins Aerospace launches Tower MicroELITE surveillance system, with San Bernardino as first airport

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has launched Tower MicroELITE (TME), a digital display system that improves air traffic controllers' awareness of their airspace. San Bernardino Airport is the first to deploy it, to cope with a rapid rise in operations. The airport is a federal contract tower, part of a growing group of private and contract airports with rising traffic but no certified radar displays. TME is built on Collins' FAA-certified Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System. It uses commercial off-the-shelf hardware, so airports of any size can install it, including regional airports, business aviation terminals, and heliports. The system has received Federal Aviation Administration System Design Approval as an Airborne Position Reference Tool. It can be used at eligible FAA Contract Tower airports and privately operated control facilities.

RTX cash flow jumps $1.76B, but receivable sales explain $1.5B of the gain

RTX Corporation's first-half operating cash flow rose to $5.40 billion from about $3.64 billion, but receivable sales explain much of the gain. Increased factoring contributed $1.5 billion, or about 41% of the improvement. Demand for aircraft maintenance and defence is lifting the business. Second-quarter commercial aftermarket sales at its engine unit grew 25%, and adjusted operating profit rose 22%. RTX generated about $4.19 billion in first-half free cash flow. Its annual guidance of $8.50–$8.75 billion requires roughly $4.31–$4.56 billion more in the second half. The shares trade at about 25x forward earnings, against 35x for General Electric. Analysts expect about 15% growth in 2026 adjusted earnings per share, versus about 24% for General Electric.
