Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required; an Engineering Technician Diploma is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is required.
  • Quality Control experience, education, or a diploma is considered an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills are required.
  • Working experience and basic comprehension of Quality Systems ISO 9001 are required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings using dimensional and geometric tolerancing (GD&T) is required.
  • Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency in a time-sensitive environment is required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English is required.
  • Understanding of and adherence to health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations is required.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct incoming quality control inspections of parts and products to ensure compliance with applicable engineering drawings, standards, and Armstrong specifications.
  • Conduct pre-shipment quality-control inspections of Armstrong products to ensure they satisfy production-order requirements and customer requirements.
  • Inspect experimental parts and prototypes against applicable engineering drawings and specifications using standard inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Release Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for identified non-conformances in the quality-assurance spreadsheet and LN10.7, including detailed root causes and effects of dispositions.
  • Maintain electronic records of all inspection results.
  • Perform ad hoc inspections related to customer-service warranty issues.
  • Attend and participate in daily quality-assurance meetings concerning non-conformance reports, dispositions, and Corrective Action Requests (CAR) reviews.
  • Handle and segregate parts and products as required.
  • Perform other duties assigned based on skills, abilities, and business needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Engineering Technician Diploma is preferred.
  • Quality Control experience, education, or a diploma is considered a strong asset.
