OVRSEA is a digital multimodal freight forwarder that uses software to manage international shipping. It provides a centralized platform for the end-to-end handling of freight, including sea, air, road, and rail transport, along with customs clearance and ad valorem insurance. The platform lets clients request quotes, book shipments, track in real time, and manage documentation, all in one place, with centralized communications and analytics for better predictability. Compared with competitors, OVRSEA combines a single, transparent hub with multimodal capabilities and data-driven insights, backed by a technology-first approach and strategic growth partnerships (notably with Bolloré Logistics) that expanded its footprint while keeping management independent. The company aims to simplify the complexities and opacity of international transport, making it more transparent and efficient for businesses and to continue expanding globally.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • January 2026 merger created a 1,000-plus employee platform with €350 million revenue.
  • OVRSEA keeps hiring in Paris, Annecy, and Lyon through 2026.
  • It is adding customs, M&A, and finance roles, signaling continued expansion.

What critics are saying

  • January 2026 integration with Fatton Lyseo creates execution risk over 12-24 months.
  • Bolloré's 2021 control limits independence and can force strategy toward scale, not product.
  • Digital freight is crowded; Flexport, Twill, and Forto compress margins and hiring demand.

What makes OVRSEA unique

  • OVRSEA blends digital freight software with Bolloré-backed operating reach since 2021.
  • January 2026 merger with Fatton Lyseo added 61 offices and 120,000 square meters.
  • It serves 700-plus companies across 60 countries with real-time shipment visibility.
