What believers are saying

  • NASA selected Barrios for MTIC on July 28, 2025, with options through 2031.
  • Barrios reported 2026 Silver Snoopy awards for JETS, ISS outreach, and IRIS software.
  • Revelio Labs pegged Barrios at 766 employees in 2026, while hiring stayed active.

What critics are saying

  • NASA dominates revenue; MTIC protest or 2027 base-period slip cuts cash flow.
  • Barrios faces single-client concentration; one NASA contract failure threatens layoffs and Houston footprint.
  • Losing MTIC options by 2031 ends Barrios's core human-spaceflight franchise and likely independence.

What makes Barrios unique

  • NASA kept Barrios on MTIC in 2025, a $450 million JSC human-spaceflight gatekeeper.
  • Kelly Page led Barrios into CEO role on October 31, 2025, preserving continuity.
  • Barrios pairs woman-owned small-business status with 45-plus years supporting NASA prime contracts.
