  • Bachelor's degree or higher in systems, communications, space systems, electrical engineering or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience relating to the defined responsibilities
  • Experience and expertise in formal, standards-based Systems Engineering should be highlighted in the application
  • Any industry recognized certificates of achievement relating to this position should be highlighted in the application
  • The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP)
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with stakeholders to translate mission requirements into System requirements
  • Manage the development and execution of Change Requests and Change Notices that affect System Engineering owned requirement documents
  • Provide recommendations on managing gaps in requirements, and suggested updates to requirement specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of requirement specifications, and requirement management strategies
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding the status and metrics of High-Level System requirements, compliance, and traceability
  • Provide engineering teams with guidance and recommendations on how to derive, trace, and report on requirements, compliance, and traceability
  • Collaborate with technical personnel on assessing technical issues, and developing strategies to address the technical issues
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in systems engineering and requirements management principles
  • Experience developing and managing requirement specifications for space missions, satellite communications systems, or related aerospace systems
  • Working knowledge and experience with requirements management software such as JAMA or DOORS; JAMA preferred
  • Familiarity with space-based or defence Systems Engineering Processes such as ECSS and NASA
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities, to be able to thrive in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to present complex ideas to a more general audience
  • Commitment to excellent work products
  • Ability to manage several complicated issues simultaneously
  • Model Based Systems Engineering MBSE experience or familiarity is an asset
