Android Wi-Fi Engineer
About the job
- A minimum BS degree in electrical engineering, computer software engineering, or a related discipline is required; an MS degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 12 years of software design and development experience in mobile embedded systems and products is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of software design and development experience in Wi-Fi modules is required.
- Experience in Android BSP software development and Linux tool chains is required.
- Design, document, and implement Wi-Fi module software features for United States wireless carriers according to carrier requirements and industry standards or specifications, including CDMA, GSM/GPRS, MTS, and LTE.
- Collaborate with Wi-Fi chip vendors, the hardware platform organization, and the product research and development team to design and develop software artifacts and resolve modem software issues.
- Collaborate with verification engineers to define and design software verification test cases and plans, and follow up on test results to close issues.
- Participate in field interoperability testing, type approval certification, and customer acceptance processes to analyze and resolve cellular and wireless platform software issues promptly and effectively.
- Communicate, share knowledge, and report project status to stakeholders, project management, and line management through verbal and written channels, including email, documentation, and wikis.
- Experience with Qualcomm’s mobile station platform.
- An MS degree.
