Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business, human resources, education, adult learning, or a related human services field is preferred; 3-4 years of experience with Damar or a similar agency may substitute for education.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience as a facilitator in a Learning and Development or training capacity is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Learning Management Software is preferred.
  • Must have or be able to obtain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer Certification.
  • Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR Trainer Certification.
  • Must be at least 21 years old per licensure requirements.
  • Must have a valid Indiana driver's license and a driving record that meets Damar's insurance-carrier eligibility requirements for positions requiring driving.
  • Must be clear of felony convictions, substantiated neglect charges, or other disqualifying criminal convictions.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Must favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods and occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard.
  • Must be able to travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to exchange information.
  • Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, elopement, or other unpredictable behaviors.
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave.
  • Each essential function must be performed satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and implement learning and development programs to drive organizational improvement.
  • Develop teaching outlines and instructional methods for individual and group learning opportunities.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal and external stakeholders, including new-hire orientation, First Aid/CPR, and certification training.
  • Own the training process, including accountability for meeting department training goals and managing the training schedule, content, interactions, and outcomes to create a positive learner experience.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Learning & Development and subject matter experts to develop and implement projects and training activities that promote clinical and administrative expertise within Damar and the industry.
  • Deliver synchronous and asynchronous learning events using varied media in virtual and local environments.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis using the ADDIE methodology to identify competencies, training requirements, training or professionalization deficiencies, and learning objectives.
  • Maintain relationships with Damar's program management teams as a business partner and proactively address learning needs.
  • Use data collection to drive and track outcomes and achieve Damar initiatives and goals.
  • Actively participate in or oversee data collection and use data to improve outcomes, practices, and service delivery.
