Requirements
  • An Associate's degree or graduation from an approved AMA school of Radiation Therapy Technology is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a Radiation Therapist is required; experience in the area assigned is preferred.
  • A current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) credential issued by the California Department of Public Health is required.
  • A current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider credential issued by the American Heart Association is required.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required.
  • Knowledge of computers, anatomy, physiology, linear accelerators, simulators, treatment planning and equipment, body mechanics, isolation procedures, and standard precautions is required.
Responsibilities
  • Under limited supervision and as assigned by the Physicist, Chief Therapist, or Manager, provide leadership to therapist staff regarding department quality expectations and customer service.
  • Provide daily treatments for cancer patients.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment for daily treatment dose delivery safely and effectively.
  • Document necessary and verifiable information pertaining to daily treatments.
  • Formally address patient concerns.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly assigned work area.
Desired Qualifications
  • A current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the California Department of Public Health is preferred.
  • Experience as a Radiation Therapist in the area assigned is preferred.
